What We do

At NIRMAN Foundation, we believe in taking one step at a time making small but effective changes. It is an initiative to match the need of our communities with the abilities of our volunteers in the network so that they can use their own expertise and knowledge.

We want to focus on areas where we can make the most difference. To start with, we aim to focus on following areas:

Mentoring the Youth: We are a network of qualified professionals who can use their personal experience to guide the youth from Nawada. It will help them to understand various opportunities and ways to achieve their goals. Through our own experiences, we have felt the need for career guidance and mentoring and this effort of ours aim to fill this gap for our future generations.

Education: We aim to get involved in improving the primary and high school education in the district. Our focus will be on improving the learning outcomes of the students by promoting innovative teaching methods and to develop leadership among the teachers.

Gender Equality and Women Empowerment: NIRMAN is committed to promoting gender equality and women empowerment. It will bring programs which would facilitate equal participation of women in the socio-economic activities of the district.

Financial Literacy: We consider financial literacy as a critical mean to secure the future of our younger as well as elder generations. Our programs on financial literacy will aim to make people aware of various financial services and how they can use them to ensure a self-reliant future.

Health Literacy: In rural areas of Nawada, there are often no facilities available for basic health care needs. The few that are available are either under-staffed, overlooked or very far from these areas. Due to these circumstances, the poor family living in these remote areas continue to suffer from some easily preventable diseases. So, we will be working towards raising awareness about benefits of health and life insurance, vaccination and organise health camps in such remote locations.

Building Community Leadership: We believe in nurturing and encouraging community leaders at the local level who can further the goals of NIRMAN in the district and elsewhere. We aim to organize workshops and exposure programs that will help members of our community to emerge as leaders for a good cause.
